Packages: Line Item View vs. Bundled View

When managing packages in the Content Library and Costing, you can choose between Bundled View or Line Item View. In both views, the costs for each line item in the package are managed and calculated the same way; the difference between the two views is how the price to the client is calculated. In Bundled View, you can set a single profit percent or price that applies to the entire Package. In Line Item View, you can set a profit percent or price for every line item, essentially allowing you to manage the profit and price for each line item in the package individually.

Which one should you choose?

If you're unsure, choose Line Item View because it offers the most flexibility.

Choose Line Item View if you want to manage pricing for each line item in the package, so that you can set individual profit percent, price tax rate, and commission rate for each line item. Line Item View allows you to "bundle" the price to the client and/or show them the line item pricing using the Client View Options so it offers the best of both worlds.

Choose Bundled View if you want to quickly set a round price per person or if you want to set a single profit percent for every line item in the package.

Note that you should NOT use Line Item View to set pricing for each line item then change to Bundled View just to "bundle" the price to the client. If you have set pricing using Line Item View and want to "bundle" the price to the client, choose the "Show Package Line Item Only" option from the Client View Options menu in the package footer. Any pricing (Profit Percent, Commission Rate, and Price Tax Rate) that you may have set for products in Line Item View are ignored in Bundled View.
