Program Templates Overview
Program Templates are yet another way to accelerate the proposal building process. Templates remove redundant tasks by allowing you to include content common to your proposals, such as destination and company information. There is no limit to the number of Program Templates you can create, so you can create specific templates based on season or templates for different types of events and clients. When creating a Program Template, you'll create sections and events in the template's Proposal and you can even add standard pricing to the template's Costing if desired. When you create a new program from a Program Template, the following information is copied from the template into the new program:
- Basic program details like group size, destinations, and length of the program in days
- Sections and events defined in the proposal Table of Contents
- Content in each section and event
- Pricing in the costing
Note: When creating a Program Template, you are required to enter start and end dates. These dates are used to define the length of the program template in days, but when creating a new program from a template you can set dates specific to the new program.
Creating a New Program Template
To create a new Program Template that you can later use with programs:
- Go to the Programs tab
- Click the [Program Templates] link in the left menu
- Click [Create New Template] button on the Program Templates page
When building a Program Template, you will build out the proposal and costing just as you would for a client program, except you should keep the content and pricing generic. In the template's proposal Table of Contents, you can define a standard structure by adding specific sections and/or events. Sections and events can be left empty if they are intended to serve as placeholders to remind salespersons to populate them in client proposals.
Using a Program Template
When creating a new program in Viper using the New Program Wizard, you'll have the option to select a template on Step 1 of the New Program Wizard. Click on a template to select it and copy all template information into your new program.
